Find The Right Pillow For You
by Maureen Erikson
For many of us, sleep is a precious commodity. With the day to day madness of going to work, running errands, taking the kids to football practice and music lessons, making dinner, doing laundry, and maybe even getting in a workout, at the end of the day all you can think about is hitting the pillow. Having the proper pillow can mean the difference between a night of tossing and turning, or sleeping like a baby.
When considering the proper pillow there are a few things to factor in:

Keeping your Body Aligned
Your neck has a natural curve forward in order to hold your head up straight, and it’s just as important to keep it in proper alignment while you sleep. If your pillow is too tall, or
bends unnaturally to the side, it can cause strain on the muscles of your back, neck, and shoulders, and may even lead to nerve damage. This can also cause your airways to be narrowed, altering your natural breathing patterns and cause snoring. At the same time, if the pillow is too low, your neck and breathing can also be strained. Typically your pillow should be between 4 to 6 inches in height, allowing for effortless support of your head and neck, and shoulders if you are a back sleeper. All of our pillows fit this standard, and depending on your sleeping style, will provide the proper support.
Comfort is Important
Everyone has their own personal preference for a pillow. If it feels good, you will be able to relax and sleep better, resulting in a much better morning for you. The surface of a pillow also plays an important factor as well. Some people find comfort in a warm pillow, while others yearn to flip a pillow over to the cool side all night long. Thankfully, with eREST pillows, you will find that either situation is an option for you. Each pillow is pincored for ultimate breathability, allowing you to have a cooler sleep than most standard pillows. Each pillow comes with a fitted cotton cover, allowing protection while fitting in your favorite pillowcase. Prefer a softer pillow? Try our Talalay, which has a down-like feel. Firmer pillow more your style? Try our Molded Pillow, with Dunlop latex, keeps an unprecedented firmness all night long. For a curved shape in your pillow, try our Contour, created to focus on supporting all the right spots.

Find the Right Position
The way you sleep will tell you the right pillow for you.
- If you are a back sleeper, make sure that the pillow supports your neck head and shoulders. Your pillow should be on the lower side, in order to prevent breathing issues from improper alignment. Consider another pillow under your knees, balancing out the strain on your spine, and giving you a more gentle position. We recommend a Contour or Molded pillow for back sleepers.
- If you are a side sleeper, your pillow should give you a horizontal line through the spine, while supporting your head and neck. Your weight should be even on the pillow, so that you don’t experience any unnecessary pressure or bending. A second pillow under the waist can offer additional support. We recommend a Molded or Contour pillow for side sleepers.
- If stomach sleeping is more your style, make sure that the pillow is flatter so that your head and neck are not turned unnaturally to either side. Adding another pillow under the stomach will help to keep a natural alignment of your spine. A Talalay pillow is suggested for stomach sleepers.
